Well that’s some title but all will become clear…
Pr/3 have been busy crafting this week while also trying the get their little teeth and tongues around some Scots language!
We have been reading The Gruffalo this week as part of our topic. It’s a fantastic text to lead into emotions, talking about times when you’ve felt worried, brave, happy, sad etc and leads nicely into talking about people who can help us when we feel these things.
Just for fun (we love to learn this way) we thought we would try The Gruffalo in Scots! The children were full of giggles and brought these into the lunch hall where I heard one of them tell their friends “Ah-body is feart oh me!” π They were fantastic at working out what the Scots words meant using picture clues and their previous knowledge from the original book. π
Not only did we do this, we tried our hands at some Makaton sign language while singing the Gruffalo song!
We also continued to learn about the importance of dental π¦· hygiene this week in preparation for starting our tooth-brushing program next week. Ask your child if they can remember how many baby teeth we get and then how many adult teeth we get?
We made a fun (and yummy) teeth display for our tooth-brushing headquarters!

Please note π Our newsletter will be posted soon…we’re having some issues uploading it. Apologies for the delay.
Also, no homework next week as we only have 3 days in school π«
Thank you,
Miss Barclay
