P2/3 had such fun last week on World Book Day-the day was full of laughter and smiles which is my favourite sort of day! ☺️
The children all came in dressed up and we started the day by guessing who they were. Can you guess?

The excitement for our crafty potato session was too much for some so we got started on that quite quickly. ☺️ The children were so creative, what fantastic book character potatoes came from it!

The children also got creative while using the Duplo and built a scene from one of their favourite books 📖 it involves an ancient castle and a great hall and I’d say it’s pretty “magical” ☺️

We also used this week to start a relatively new skill of story-mapping. We have chosen to use The Dinosaur 🦖 that Pooped 💩 a Planet 🪐 for our writing over the next few weeks. Story mapping does just what it says on the tin…we are mapping the story out in simple terms so the children can retell it themselves, using and developing their own language. Lots of opportunities to do this will enable them to become better storytellers themselves and will lead to improved story-writing.

Our drawing skills also got put to the test during these lessons…drawing a dinosaur can be quite tricky! 🦖😂🙈
Check back soon to see more of our adventures and Talk for Writing soon.
